Acceptance of Terms
By using orator.coach ("the Website") or the Orator iOS application ("the App"), collectively referred to as "the Services," you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Service Description
Orator provides two related services:
- Coaching Platform (Website): A marketplace that connects users with independent speech and voice coaches. Through the Website, you can browse coach profiles, book sessions, and make payments.
- Voice Training App (iOS): An AI-powered speech and voice training application with structured courses, standalone exercises, real-time speech analysis (pitch, pauses, filler words), and AI-generated coaching feedback.
Important: The App is an educational and self-improvement tool. It does not provide medical, therapeutic, psychological, or professional coaching advice. The AI-generated feedback is for informational and practice purposes only. If you have a speech or voice disorder, consult a qualified speech-language pathologist or medical professional.
Bookings & Payments (Website)
- Sessions are booked through the Website and paid for via Stripe.
- Prices are displayed in the currency shown on each coach's profile.
- Payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your session.
- You will receive a booking confirmation via email.
- No user account is required to book a session.
Cancellation & Refunds (Website)
Our cancellation policy is straightforward:
- 24+ hours before the session: Full refund to your original payment method.
- Less than 24 hours before the session: No refund. This protects coaches who have reserved time for your session.
Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement. To request a cancellation, contact us at support@orator.coach.

Coach Relationship
Coaches on the Website are independent professionals, not employees or agents of Orator. Orator facilitates the connection and booking process but does not provide coaching services directly. Each coach is responsible for the quality and content of their sessions. Orator does not guarantee specific outcomes from coaching sessions.
Account Registration (App)
To use the App, you must create an account using either an email address and password or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App.
Subscriptions (App)
The App offers premium features through an auto-renewable subscription. By subscribing, you agree to the following terms:
- Payment: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Renewal charge: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the same price.
- Managing your subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Price changes: Subscription prices may change. You will be notified in advance of any price increase and must agree to continue.
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests for subscription payments must be directed to Apple through their refund process.
Audio Recording & Processing (App)
The App requires microphone access to record your speech during practice exercises. By using the recording features, you consent to:
- Your voice being recorded through your device microphone
- On-device processing of your audio for real-time filler word detection and pitch analysis
- Transmission of audio recordings to our servers for transcription via OpenAI Whisper
- Processing of transcriptions by OpenAI GPT to generate coaching feedback
- Storage of audio recordings in your account for session review

AI-Generated Content (App)
The App uses artificial intelligence to analyze your speech and generate coaching feedback. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated feedback may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation
- AI analysis is not a substitute for professional speech therapy, medical advice, or professional coaching
- We do not guarantee specific outcomes or improvements from using the App
- Speech analysis metrics (pitch, pace, filler counts) are approximations and may vary based on recording conditions
User Responsibilities
When using our Services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact and registration information
- Show up on time for scheduled coaching sessions (Website)
- Communicate respectfully with coaches (Website)
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not use the App to record or process other people's speech without their consent
- Not use the Services for any unlawful purpose
- Not attempt to circumvent payment through the Website after an initial booking
- Not attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or access premium features without payment (App)
Intellectual Property
All content across our Services — including text, courses, exercises, design, logos, and branding — is owned by Orator or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without our written permission.
Your audio recordings and session data remain your property. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
Limitation of Liability
Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services, including but not limited to: loss of data, inability to access the service, or reliance on AI-generated feedback.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service in question in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our Services if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Services ceases immediately
- You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us
- Active App subscriptions should be cancelled through iOS Settings to avoid further charges
You may stop using our Services at any time. To delete your App account, contact us at support@orator.coach.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be settled through binding arbitration.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via the Services. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
